I had my hands on a RedHat system once (really, just once :) and noticed an
/etc/sysconfig dir with quite a lot of stuff for configuring network devices.
I'm not sure what it else it does. At the moment Debian only has
/etc/init.d/network which just runs ifconfig, but couldn't something similar
to /etc/sysconfig on RedHat be implemented on Debian? One could then also
write an ncurses front-end for configuring ipmasq, firewall stuff etc.
