The size of the source tree says nothing about how well the package can be
optimized for a specific CPU or if that optimization will have any
noticable effect.

The source tree for RC5 is no doubt small (< 2 mb I would guess), but it
benifits GREATLY from CPU optimization.

Source tree size is completely irrelevant.
