Ibus behavior for alphabet input is a bit complicated.  Since I don't
have such complication, the following may not be correct down to the
details.

(Let me assume you are using GNOME)

Start system configuration panel and open "Region & Language".
You should install input source manually for ibus-rime or any other
method.  Most CJK input method panel has Gear icon which let you
configure details.

(I don't have ibus-rime, so the following is example of ibus-anthy.  But
the principle should be the same.)

Clicking gear icon while selecting your favorite IM should open an
Set-up dialog.  There is a tab for "Typing method".

There you find "Keyboard layout". In my case "Default", "us", "jp", ...

For US and JP, I can use these to set up instead of leaving it as
"default".  For Russian, this trick  may not work.    But worth trying.
