As far as I know, current best practice is to dualstack your servers, so
that they have both ipv4 and ipv6 addresses on the interfaces and in the
dns. so they are reachable by both protocoll stacks. A dual stacked
client will connect by ipv6 because it has a higher priority, a ipv4
client by ipv4 and a ipv6 client by ipv6.

We practice this since 4years without any problems.
