The tenth HealthGrid conference will take place at the Amsterdam Medical
Centre from Monday 21st toA Wednesday 23rd May 2012. It offers the
opportunity to introduce and share novel ideas for theA integration of
grid, cloud and other e-infrastructures into the fields of biology,
bioinformatics,A biomedicine and healthcare, focusing on fundamental and
practical aspects of middleware, technologies,A applications and
deployment issues. The conference programme will include high profile
keynoteA presentations complemented by a set of selected papers, tutorials
and demonstrations. A special sessionA of invited talks will also
retrospect the evolution and challenges of healthgrids during the last 10
years.A Additionally, the conference is co-located and jointly organized
with the 4th International Workshop onA Science Gateways for Life
Sciences.
Contributions should be submitted in theA EasyChair
systemA (https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=hgiwsg2012)A byA January
16, 2012. All selectedA contributions will be published in
PubMed-referenced proceedings in the IOS Press book series.A DownloadA the
completeA Call for Papers at:

=== Call for Papers
Submissions are accepted as full or short papers presenting original,
unpublished work. Papers areA accepted as PDF documents in theA IOS style
formatA A (maximum 10 pages for a full paper, 6 pages for aA short paper).
The main conference track welcomes contributions related but not limited
to the following topics:A
A A - Challenges in the accessibility and adoption of e-Infrastructures
by biomedical users.
A A -A Core technologies, infrastructures, middleware, algorithms and
tools.
A A -A Security and protection of medical data.
A A -A Knowledge integration and management.
A A -A Applications, in particular to bioinformatics, biomedical
informatics, medical imaging, public healthA informatics, epidemiological
studies, drug discovery, clinical tests and virtual physiological human.
A A -A Socio-economic aspects, integration of healthgrid and cloud
applications into clinical practice,A sustainability and market
strategies, virtual organizations and their sociology.
Two special tracks are also offered:A
A A -A The special track on Scientific Gateways for Healthcare, jointly
organized withA IWSG-Life 2012,A focuses on frameworks (or toolsets)
incorporating applications, data and tools to run, support,A share, search
and manage applications and data on e-infrastructures.A
A A -A The Life-Science Grid Community (LSGC) special track focuses on
coordinated community effortsA made in the life sciences to efficiently
exploit distributed computing resources: community workA coordination,
virtual research community-building, infrastructure operations, community
services,A application success stories, data collection, quality control
and publication.
Paper selection will be based on the originality of their contribution,
technical quality, clarity ofA presentation, and relevance to the
conference topics. Selected papers will be invited for oral or
posterA presentation.
=== Call for Demonstrations
A demonstration session will showcase innovative prototypes or production
platforms relevant to theA conference topics. Demonstration proposals can
be submitted as 500-word abstracts presenting anA overview of the
demonstration and a description of the underlying system focusing on its
originality andA impact.
=== Call for Tutorials
The purpose of tutorials is to enable new users to employ a specific
healthgrid application or system.A Tutorial proposals are welcome as
2-page abstracts highlighting the relevance of the topic and
describingA the application or system, the target audience, the duration
of the tutorial and the requiredA infrastructure.
