Well, forcing an upgrade to the new perl has broken my ability to build
packages (I had to install perl-5.005-base_5.005.03-2.deb with --force-conflicts):

 $ debuild -rfakeroot -sa
 Can't locate loadable object for module Locale::gettext in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.005/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.005 /usr/local/lib/site_perl/i386-linux /usr/local/lib/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5 .) at /usr/bin/debuild line 74
 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/debuild line 74.

so please do an NMU of postgresql (which contains libpgperl).

I'm now out of contact till next weekend, but it would be nice to know
how to get my system back together...
