I did a net install via ftp server and all I downloaded to to burn to cd was
the net install ISO, once with rc 2 installer and rc3 installer. Never had
any troubles with either one. If you can go that route maybe it will work
better for you.
My system is a P4 3.0ghz with 512MB of ram a 40 gig and a 30 gig drive with
a Nvidia GeForce mx 440 videi card and built in sound.
Only trouble I had was that I had to manually configure the sound card.

We tried to install from Sarge cds 1, 2, and 3 and were not able to install
a clean Xwindows. The images came from a Switzerland mirror (Zurich, I
think). Three times we formatted the drive and three times it failed -- this
drive has absolutely no triouble with any other Linux work and passes the
thorough hard drive test with no errors. Is this the kind of a problem I can
expect from a "testing" version of Debian?
