Submit Mirror Information
If you would like to submit information about a mirror of Debian, you can do so using the form below. Most information provided will be displayed in the mirror list.
There are examples at the bottom of the page in case you aren't sure how to proceed.
Please note that all submitted mirrors should follow the rules and guidelines laid out in our documentation.
Your site should appear on the list within a week, as soon as a human operator verifies it and includes it. We might email you in case of any problems with the submitted entry.
If you don't get any feedback within two weeks, you can contact us at mirrors@debian.org.
Examples
The following submission would be for a server called debian.example.com, which can also be reached using e1.example.com. These names are fictional, of course.
Site: debian.example.com
Aliases: e1.example.com
Debian archive mirror is in the /debian/ directory on the web server:
Packages archive, over HTTP: /debian/
This is for ftp://debian.example.com/debian/:
Packages archive, over FTP: /debian/
This is the directory used for rsync access, debian.example.com::debian/:
Packages archive, over rsync: debian/
This mirror gets refreshed from ftp.xy.debian.org, so we'll add:
Mirror is updated from: ftp.xy.debian.org
Now for the maintainer information:
Name of site maintainer: John Doe
Public e-mail of site maintainer: address.goes@here.example.com
This maintainer address will not generally be shown on the public lists, but it's necessary to have one so that the mirror list editors and users can contact you in case of problems. Please enter a correct address.
The only other piece of information necessary is the country. For example:
Country: United States [US]
You could also optionally add:
Private e-mail of site maintainer (optional): private@address.here
Location of site (optional): Place, region name
Name of site sponsor (optional): Site sponsor name
URL of site sponsor (optional): http://name.of.sponsor.tld/
Comment: Any notes you feel would help others
Here you can enter a private e-mail address that will be sent only to a select few mirror list editors, in case you'd like to give us a more direct address but are weary of publishing it. You can also give credit to the site sponsor and give other specific information about your site.
The following example would describe the mirror at ftp.us.debian.org:
Site: ftp.us.debian.org
Aliases: http.us.debian.org
Packages archive, over HTTP: /debian/
Packages archive, over FTP: /debian/
Packages archive, over rsync: debian/
Name of site maintainer: John Doe
Email of site maintainer: abc@address.goes.here
Country: United States [US]
If you maintain copies of old versions of Debian, your entry would look something like this:
Site: archive.debian.org
Old Debian releases, over HTTP: /debian-archive/
Old Debian releases, over FTP: /debian-archive/
Old Debian releases, over rsync: debian-archive/
Name of site maintainer: Debian FTP admins
Email of site maintainer: abc@address.goes.here
Country: United States [US]
