Package: boot-floppies
Version: Debian 2.1 official CD's
Priority: wishlist

The user on installation should select a 'language' not a keyboard
map. This language selection should select automatically a keyboard
mapping (but the user should be able to select one anyway, as
'Alternate').
This language installation should also, if possible, drive all the
installation process in the language of the user, or, if not possible, and
the user is using installation disk's of a different language, provide a
pointer (URL) or where to get these disks (since this eases installation).
Also, the official CDs should provide installation disks for all
languages and load one or another accordingly to the user's selection
(maybe this is not feasible, I don't know how "El torito" works), or even
read it from the /cdrom.

Martin Mitchell's reply from a year ago is compelling. Closing this
