Right, but I think that what people were asking for was for deb-make
to insert this code into the rules file instead of leaving it in
debstd. Inserting something like:
find debian/tmp/usr/man -size 5k | xargs gzip -9v
for dynamic manpage compression, or whatever. I imagine that some
people's arguements might even be quelled by just including the source
to debstd in the package and invoking it from there.
